Untold story of an women entrepreneur Hema Gadia who had courage to start business when world was shutting down due to COVID

Hema Gadia the founder and owner of H-YOU by Hema Gadia the nail art studio and academy have hands on experience in different fields of the industry which is from being a title winner in beauty pageants to becoming a fashion show and a dance choreographer along with holding 8 years of experience of handling international PR and marketing.

As she says and firmly believes with due respect, she was never meant to do a time frame job and when COVID hit us with a reality check of how fragile and short the life of span is. It helped her to take the risk of her life, to put down the papers and to start the journey of being an entrepreneur.

As a women whose always decked up and has immense love for anything that makes a statement and stands out in a personality she personally believes a perfect set of nails can add as a magic portion to ones personality, confidence and boost their mood.

Being an owner as well as a service provider is something Hema always thought of but she says, that being a good owner leads to a complete package deal (where you play a role of a staff, an accountant, a content creator, a manager, a leader and so on.)but “if u love people, if you love to learn, have great customer service, stay up to date on trends and the top most of all have faith and believe in yourself you can do it”, says Hema.

She got her experience running her own brand since 1st April’ 2021 and says she’s all ready to level up and expand in different areas of Mumbai for her second branch. The experience has helped her to understand how to manage clients, staff, schedules, budgets and how to make a studio run smoothly. She says being her own boss is harder work, but worth it “even when I’m having fun and spending time with my family and friends, I’m thinking about my business. I’m always asking myself: is it running right? Are there things I can change? How can I grow my business? Said Hema.

Opening her own studio was truly a labour of love for Hema, she had been saving every penny she could since the day she decided she wanted to introduce her own brand.

Where she firmly believes that location is everything, her studio is put up in Bandra West in a very prime location, where the space is comfortable for your client and the team working behind it.

May it be her house or her studio as a creative person, she loves to decorate it by herself says with flowers or frames with good quotes that have always been her signature statement.

A crucial of a beauty studio owner’s job is to maintain the quality of service and product.

Hema does this through social networking and word of mouth. She says that there is a fine line in maintaining a balance between a friend and business women. She admits this us one if the hardest parts of transition to owning a business, “I want to have fun with everybody, but I also have to be accountable for the business, i have to make sure everyone looks and acts professional”, says Hema

Hema looks for go-getters when hiring she wants someone who is able to give the client an experience that they would not be able to get across the street. I want someone whose learning new techniques and work even though it may be their day off, says Hema. Hema has long-term goals for her business considering the academy part of her nails and lashes which she provides at diff levels from diploma to masters and trains the best nail artist.

Her focus and aim is to help as many as young women or even middle age women to achieve their goals and educate them in the profession of adopting nail artist as their career. Being a nail enthusiast she held workshops and seminars where any age of generation is being motivated towards pursuing nail artist as their choice of career. When starting with a business know that your going to have ups and downs just as one has its heart rate which is never a straight line and that signs of u being alive.

I Hema Gadia would just like put a sweet advice to all those women aspiring to open their business at to whatever level it’s never to late to start. If you known and you want it god damn own it.
