Moving forward with the story of the web series ‘Perfect Strangers’, directed by Mandar Sudhakar Khare and Akshata Gaigaware.

“Writing superb stories is a great start, but when it comes to filmmaking, there is a lot more to it than the story itself. The form of the craft is very different from a book, which makes it possible for even the simplest of stories to be the world’s best films, and even the world’s best story, so to speak, can become one of the worst films ever”, says Mandar Sudhakar Khare, writer – director of the web series ‘Perfect Strangers’.

“As much as a story is important, the execution of that film is important. After we wrote the story and we were quite certain that we would find a good cast. But before that, main question for us was who could manage this production so that we can focus on the creatives and technical side? Who can fit everything in the production time and budget? We wanted to find such a person, and, it took us just 5 seconds”, added Akshata Gaigaware, director of the web series ‘Perfect Strangers’.

“We have known Aditya from last few years, and he has been a good friend. For anyone who knows him, will instinctively say that he is a great event manager. And so of course, we asked him to come aboard and he agreed immediately to handle it for us. This man was a center point during the production of our series ‘Perfect Strangers’. He had a complete plan ready on how to manage every little thing in the process of production”, said the both directors, Mandar Sudhakar Khare and Akshata Gaigaware.

What makes your role special in ‘Perfect Strangers’?

On talking to the Production Manager of ‘Perfect Stranger’, Aditya More, he said , “So much of this job involves juggling multiple tasks. One minute you might be booking a gear, and the next minute you would communicating with actors, dealing with the crew’s pay, travel, call times and so on. All this means you really need to be at the best of your game and keep multiple things going so that the rest of the team can focus at their work.”

“In this field, being confident and clear communicator will save you tons of time and trouble. Whether in person, over the phone or by WhatsApp chats, make sure that you communicate in a way that is understandable and concise. As the Production Manager, you will be dealing with potentially hundreds of people, so it is important to be a strong communicator. If you are shy or don’t like talking to people, this is not the job for you. A large portion of your day is going to be spent talking to people; make sure that this is something you are comfortable with”, added Aditya.

How was your experience on friends working together as professionals?

“Almost all of us have made plans of starting a business or doing a project with our friend, but I am really glad, Mandar and Akshata asked me to be a part of the team and we could explore this side of our friendship. Having a good relationship with your directorscan help make your work and film seta walk in the park. Nonetheless,I made sure that I respect the heirarchy distinction. Restrictingmy conversation to things your directors would not have to mention in front of crew. Also, maintain respect for your directors, especially during shooting hours”, said by Aditya More.

“Aditya will always be the one who I enjoy spending time with, and while working together I always try speaking positively about my coworkers and avoid negative comments, especially while on sets. This is even more important among your friends, where conversations may be more relaxed and you might be less guarded about the things you say. If I have a problem with a co-worker that can be anyone on set, I discuss it with them in person, and encourage to do the same”, mentioned by Mandar Sudhakar Khare, writer – director of the web series ‘Perfect Strangers’.

“ Both of them are very creative people who gave me great ease on the sets. It felt like home. Working with a team, that cooperates with your working styles and demands is very important in a creative process. If we are still trying to form friendships at work, we may feel the need to change the way we speak and behave to fit in with the film sets environment. In the end, it’s better to be yourself and let people get to know you for who you are at work. I guess this allows me to develop more honest work and relationships, where you behave the same way both on and off set”, added Akshata Gaigaware, director of the web series ‘Perfect Strangers’.

What extra support you needed while making this web series ‘Perfect Strangers’?

“Actually, filmmaking is not an easy process and it is not supported only by the technical team or those who have knowledge of filmmaking. We are thankfully to have our family and friends who wouldbe our critics, constantly making it better. If we were to mention names, friends like Shubham Korde, Mandar Dhagale, Rohan Kale, and last but not the least Yadnesh Ghorpade.

As for Yadnesh Ghorpade, he is a partner of Evasion Studio, but also, he was going to do a small role in ‘Perfect Strangers’. But since he got married, we had to givethe role another actor. But soon you will see him acting in a new project”, said by the both directors Mandar Sudhakar Khare and Akshata Gaigaware.
