Teamlease Skills University emphasized ‘Putting India to Work’ on Republic Day

Vadodara (Gujarat) [India]: 74th Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and zeal at TeamLease Skills University, Vadodara. Prof.Dr. Avani Umatt unfurled the national flag in Teamlease Skills University campus, Vadodara and addressed the august audience. Remembering the glorious past, she saluted the martyrs and our armed forces and took a moment to renew our pledge to continue to uphold the traditions and values of our great nation. Highlighting the achievements of the team TLSU, she emphasized on ‘Putting India to Work’. She took pride in sensitizing about India’s presidency, G20 Summit of the year, intergovernmental organization made up of the European Union and 19 other nations. She mentioned Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam as recently unveiled theme for India’s G20 Year. On behalf of TLSU, she announced, “We will be having an informative session related to G20 Summit followed by several activities for students.” Showcasing the rich culture and heritage of India, students and staff members performed songs, dances and poetry to express their patriotism and pride to be citizens of India and shared what Republic Day mean to them. Here it is noteworthy that I/c registrar of TLSU, Prof. Dr. H. C. Trivedi, Heads of various departments, staff members, students, parents, alumni, and representatives of media and press remained present to celebrate the grand occasion of 74th Republic Day in TLSU, Tarsali campus.   

About the University:

TeamLease Skills University (TLSU ) Vadodara established under Public-Private-Partnership with the Government of Gujarat (Gazette Notification (Gujarat Act No. 18 of 2013) under Gujarat Private Universities (Amendment) Act, 2013 with effect from 22nd April 2013), is India’s first Vocational Skills University and the only University to be located within an ITI campus. With a mission to facilitate willing individuals to acquire skills and capabilities, prepare them to get appropriate employment and ensure their competitiveness in national and international work environment, TLSU focusses on 3E’s as a part of its curricular design Methodology: Education, Employability and Employment by adopting blended teaching involving face-to-face instruction, workshop/laboratory practice, web-based learning and on-job training with an aim to create ‘ready-to-employ’ graduates.

TLSU  has ensured that the curriculum design of all its programmes are industry-relevant and that each student has a minimum of 6 months (for Degree programmes) or 3 months (for Diploma programmes) “On-Job-Training” prior to completion of the University programme. Each degree student is taught ‘Entrepreneurship Skills and Applications’ for at least one semester to ensure holistic exposure for better career opportunities.
